Updates:

Some students still have outstanding SWIMMING forms. Please send these in this week as swimming starts on Monday.

Have you seen these boots?

These boots may have ended up
at your house by mistake - can
you please take a look.

Circles and Stars:

We played a game today that reinforced the idea of equal groups and repeated addition as we explore the initial concepts of multiplication. Students took turns with a partner rolling the dice. The first roll would be the number of circles you would draw, and the second roll indicated the number of stars in each circle. For example if you rolled 5 and 3  it would give you 5 groups of 3, which means 3+3+3+3+3 for a total of 15. This total is then awarded as your points for the round. Play at home! See who can get to 100 first.

What do you think the opposite is of...

love- uncaring? hate?
humility- unequal? thinking you are the best?
wisdom- unwise?foolish? quick
courage- scared? meek?
respect- disrespectful? self-centered?

In our exploration of virtues, sometimes it helps to better understand them when you are able to identify the opposites. Listed above are some student ideas. Have a conversation at home about the virtues. What do they mean do you?

Our day ended with a student exclaiming, "Love is the ULTIMATE virtue!" We couldn't agree more.
