Valentine's Day
We've discussed the option of handing out valentine cards today. Seeing as we are a very large pod we are suggesting students who wish to participate can bring cards for just the students in their "homeroom". That would limit the number to 22-23 per teacher. We will post first names of students soon. We will hand out cards on February 13th.
Here are classes and names:
Campbell: Adara, Andrew, Anna, Aseem, Brandon, Breanna, Daniel, Eric, Hannah, Hema, Hunter, Jack, Jai, Jax, Jayah, Jonah, Julia, Landry, Lucas, Mackenzie, Madison, Tarek
Huebner: Abby, Aidan, Alyssa, Anja, Brock, Cayden, Hannah, Jack R, James, Kennedy, Mackenzie, Maddie, Matias, Maya, Mya, Nayely, Raquel, Sarah, Sophia, Svea, Toby, Winter
Lawson: Aditi, Alex, Alexander, Cameron, Elizabeth, Fallon, Izak, Kyle, Lina, Lyric, Madi, Maison, Parker, Pihu, Qunzhi, Rachel, Ryan, Treston, Ty, Ty W, Venice, Xavier
Read Aloud
We read a very applicable to the weather story today. The book is called OWL MOON. This helped us focus on creating a setting in our own story. Students were challenged to develop a setting for their own story. After reading, students brainstormed some possible settings they could use in a story.
Math
Each class continued to focus on multiplication. Practicing is the key to developing and building math skills, so students had opportunities to build and work on strategies for multiplying basic facts.
Rocks & Minerals
We looked at the different types of rocks and how they are formed. Below is some of the work that was done today from brainstorming a list of questions to answering some of those questions.
