- Conferences this Thursday and Friday. Teachers have emailed you to let you know who you should schedule your conference with. If you did not receive an email then please let your homeroom teacher know.
- Conferences are student-led, so it's important that your child attend as well in order for them to be able to share their learning with you.
Stones carry our stories Forward...
We were fortunate to have Chantal Stormsong Chagnon join us today. Chantal is a Cree Ojibwe Métis Singer, Drummer, Artist, Storyteller, Actor, Educator, Workshop Facilitator, Social Justice Advocate and Activist with roots in Muskeg Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan. She shares Traditional Indigenous Songs, Stories, Culture, History, Arts, Crafts and Teachings. She shared traditional Indigenous Stories with us today and taught us that rocks have stories to tell - that rocks hold the stories, and they will carry our stories forward. Each Student then choose a rock and painted it to symbolize a story that is connected to them. We ended the day in a sharing circle, telling the stories our rocks hold. We look forward to sharing our stones with you at conferences this week!
