Ms. Huebner mohuebner@cbe.ab.ca , Mrs. Campbell mfcampbell@cbe.ab.ca or Mr. Lawson ajlawson@cbe.ab.ca  .We will walk to TMC schoolyard and eat our lunch and then make our way to the coulee.

What does supernatural mean to you?
Challenge:Build a 3D representation of the meaning of supernatural!

Sharing our ideas:
I think it means a house because I think it also means what you see every day.

I thought it was REALLY natural so I was thinking about plants.

To me it means something you DON’T see everyday. I watched a skit on youtube about a spider and a butterfly being friends and it was called supernatural. So I made a butterfly and spider.

I think it means sort of like aliens so I built a radar for anything that doesn’t live on earth. The radar would be on the supernatural planet with aliens and it would help them detect other spaceships or meteorites.

We made a coulee because to us natural means plant, water and sky. It means REALLY, REALLY natural so nothing is manmade.

I made a triangle because I think it is natural because you see triangles a lot. The super part means you can do great things with it. So you can do great things with triangles.

I made a square and a rectangle because I think it means you see something all the time and we see shapes all of the time.

I made a UFO landing spot because I think supernatural means it is NOT real.

We think supernatural means someone picking up garbage, so we made a person picking up garbage. It means putting garbage in the garbage, recycling in the recycling and compost in the compost.

I made a skateboard because you see skateboards a lot. I think it is really ‘common’ like natural.

We thought it was something like a witch, something you wouldn’t see in real life  - so we made a little witch house with a witch in it.

After much discussion we discovered SUPERNATURAL means beyond what is natural and cannot be cannot be explained by the laws of nature.  Abnormal.

Next they had to answer the following question: If you could have any supernatural power,

what would it be? Here are some of the answers:

Kindergarten Buddies
Right after lunch the grade 3 & 4s had the opportunity to make puppets with the kindergarteners. It was fun to see all the costumes and see the 3/4s helping out the little ones!
