We are tentatively planning on going to the Coulee on Thursday Oct. 11th in the afternoon. If any parents would like to come along please email your homeroom teacher. We plan to leave at 12:15 and will be back by 3pm. Please be sure you have your police clearance to join us.
Terry Fox
We are beginning to wrap up the collection of donations and pledge forms for our very successful Terry Fox Run. We are in the final stages of counting all donations both online and that have been handed into the school. We are very close to reaching our $4000.00 goal. If you have not handed in your pledge forms and donation or would like to make a donation online you can do so using the following link:

We will have a final total by Friday, October 12 and the draw will be made for the Terry Fox T-Shirt from all pledge forms returned.
Word Work
In our word work session today we took a mixed up word and discovered that we can make so many different words that have a lot of the same sounds in them. Ask your child what the mixed up word was.
Mathematics
We played a game called SPLAT! and then performed a Quick Draw. SPLAT! allowed students to share the different ways we see numbers (or not see numbers). Quick Draw worked on spatial awareness, which is foundational to understanding numbers. We also looked at what NUMBER, NUMERAL and DIGIT mean.
