Today students were engaged in a word problem to do with place value. They learned what number, numeral and digit mean. Once they knew the meaning of these words most were able to figure out the question. Through this they learned that it is okay to struggle and that, in fact, through struggle is how we learn. They also had an opportunity to get signed up for a great math practice website called Sumdog. A letter went home about this today along with their login information. The website link is https://www.sumdog.com . This is a great website for practicing basic math skills and has a proven track record for improving their skills in math. Please have your child go on this website for extra practice.
