Looking closely at the moon...
One of our students shared photographs today of the lunar eclipse that occurred last week. We looked closely at the photos and made scientific observations.
Scowled...
Our word of the day today was 'scowled'. Students were challenged to build/draw/create the meaning of the word, then upon hearing the definition were asked to write a paragraph using narration and dialogue including the word scowled. Students are working on expanding their vocabulary and to use words other than 'said' to show who is speaking in their stories.
Everybody needs a rock...
Students explored more rock properties and characteristics today. They each then designed a rock and now have a 'pet rock' to keep at school!
